Zurich: a hub for innovation and lighting
At our headquarters in Zurich, at Thurgauerstrasse 39, we have not only opened a comprehensively modernised lighting centre on the ground floor, but have also created an innovative working environment on the first floor.
The newly designed showroom showcases a wide range of Zumtobel products and lighting solutions, particularly for the Shop & Retail and Art & Culture sectors. Thanks to the high degree of flexibility, the premises can be used for both client presentations and internal training sessions. The space is zoned using suspended elements, and many of the furnishings can be positioned flexibly. Naturally, dynamic lighting scenes triggered by optical sensors are also part of the exhibition.
A particular highlight is the presentation of the IZURA pendant luminaire, which was designed in accordance with the Zumtobel Circular Design Rules (CDR). Thanks to its modular design, it allows for virtually unlimited customisation and meets all the requirements of the circular economy. Customers can design this luminaire to suit their needs and even personalise it using digital profile printing.
A graffiti piece by the artist Andre Morgner, known by his stage name Boogie, sprayed directly onto the light centre, raises key questions about sustainability and longevity, thus providing the perfect backdrop for the luminaires on display. The artistic theme continues with a work by Benjamin Bergmann. ‘ME WE’ is considered Muhammad Ali’s shortest poem, understood as a political message on inequality and solidarity. Another eye-catcher in the display area is Olafur Eliasson’s Starbrick – by slotting the modules together, impressive, luminous sculptures are created.
The outdoor lighting area for Thorn luminaires has also been modernised and showcases innovative possibilities for flexible and dynamic lighting solutions. Customised samples can be produced directly on site.
Saint-Sulpice: a new centre for French-speaking Switzerland
In Saint-Sulpice, at 172 Rue du Centre, we have moved into new premises that not only offer state-of-the-art office space but also feature an impressive customer area with exhibition and meeting zones. These areas are designed to showcase innovative lighting solutions to customers whilst providing space for creative collaboration. The workspaces are a mix of fixed and flexible areas that meet the demands of modern working.
The exhibition area primarily showcases solutions for shops and retail, including decorative luminaires and spotlights from the Panzeri brand. Particular attention is paid to dynamic lighting control, which enables lighting installations to be adapted in real time to the specific environment and requirements of a project. In the exhibition cubes, customised mock-ups can be created to demonstrate the possibilities of lighting management in terms of dynamic settings and scenes, tailored to specific projects.
